“Security errors detected” popup threat: information and removal
The “Security errors detected” popup is one of the many means used by the rogue anti-spyware Spyware Guard 2008 to trick the user into purchasing it. It appears when browsing SGViralScan.com as part of a fake system scan. The popup says:
“http://sgviralscan.com/ says:
Security errors detected.
Click here to view errors list. Remove this errors as soon as possible to prevent data lost and privacy information exposure.”
This popup should not be trusted under any circumstances, since it only promotes a fake and malicious tool. Block SGViralScan.com using your HOSTS file.
